During this year’s Bluffton Blaze of Lights First National Bank invites area residents to do a good deed and receive a free gift certificate, courtesy of Kasasa, its rewards checking account partner.

In addition, First National Bank has pledged $450 prize money to expand this year’s Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce Bluffton residential holiday lighting contest. Details of that contest will be announced soon.

Kyle E. Trentman, 19, died Nov. 11, 2013, at Cleveland Clinic. He was born April 17, 1994, in Lima to Scott Trentman and Jennifer Bowers.

A holiday craft show is planned at the Jenera Town Hall later this month.

The event is from noon to 4 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 17. The town hall is located at 1800 State Route 698, Jenera.

The how will have crafts, Christmas gifts, baked goods, raffles and other items. Proceeds from the event are being donated to a family to help with medical bills.

Now there’s a new place to eat dinner on weekends.  Mustard Seed Cafe, 562 N. Main St. Bluffton, has extended its hours and is now open Friday and Saturday evenings from 5 to 8 p.m.

Appetizers include shrimp cocktail, cold poached scallop with blueberry vinegar aioli, mussels steamed in beer, baked brie with cranberry compote, hummus with vegetables, olives & flatbread, continental plate for two and calamari meze.

Bev Amstutz, local artist, has created a Blaze of Lights holiday card for over 10 years. Her 2013 debuted in Greg's Pharmacy this week, and it offers a charming touch to Bluffton holidays.

This year's card has a left and right panel and opens like "barn doors." (See the example at the bottom of this story.)

The cover features this year's Blaze theme "Deck the Halls." When opened, the card shows the front of the Bluffton town hall. Cards are $1 each and are available at Greg's Pharmacy and from Amstutz.
