Bluffton University has announced its dean’s list for the spring term. Students with a GPA of 3.6 or higher are eligible for the dean’s list. Students with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.75 based on 20 semester hours received distinction for continued high achievement, indicated by *.

A Bluffton University graduate and his family are featured in the brochure from Blanchard Valley Health System that promotes its new regional cancer care center.

Ada resident, David Dellifield, and his wife, Jami, and their two children Nora and Ian, are featured. Peter Suter of Bluffton is a member of the campaign cabinent for the project.

Two Bluffton University students are among 20 nationwide selected for an internship with one of the most powerful supercomputers in the world.

Matthew McCoy and Daniel Piero will spend the next year working on-site and remotely with Blue Waters, which is housed in the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The internship includes a full-time commitment this summer.

Citizens National Bank  has named Jeff Stratton as Vice President/Business Banking Officer of their Findlay office. In this position, Stratton is responsible for establishing new commercial relationships for CNB, as well as analyzing current customer portfolios on a regular basis.

Stratton has nearly eight years of experience in the banking industry, formerly serving as a commercial lender, customer service manager, monitoring analyst, and EDP support underwriter.

Mary Elizabeth Clark, 88, died on June 16, 2014, at 6:47 p.m. at the Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton.

Mary was born Aug. 26, 1925, in McGuffey, Ohio, to the late John M. and Merle M. (Lewis) Canaan. On April 29, 1944, she married James A. "Cappy" Clark who preceded her in death on April 13, 1981.

Mary retired from Triplett Corporation, Bluffton.  She was a 1943 graduate of Ada High School. She was a member of the Beaverdam Church of Christ. Mary was a volunteer for the Bluffton Hospital Auxiliary and worked at the Shannon Theatre in Bluffton following retirement.

The next Sunday buffet at Maple Crest Senior Living of Bluffton is June 22, according to Daren Lee, director of Maple Crest. The buffet menu includes Monterey chicken with salsa, baked herbed salmon, wild rice, a vegetable medley, dinner rolls, strawberry pie and coffee and iced tea.

The buffet is in the Patio Room at Maple Crest from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. It is open to all adults 55 and older at a cost of $7.50 per person.

The Bluffton Police Department, in conjunction with the Pandora Police Department, is planning on holding their 1st annual National Night Out celebration on Tuesday August 5, 2014. The Bluffton, Beaverdam, and Pandora Fire and EMS Departments have also been invited to participate in this event. The Bluffton, Pandora, and Beaverdam communities are all invited to attend.
