BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University men’s basketball team will raise funds and awareness for cancer during an event in honor of a fellow teammate.
There are some people who have a life in them, an energy that is overflowing and abundant. This energy is demonstrated not only in the way they walk, or talk, but in their spirit and the way they share it with others. Debbie Mohr is a one-of-a-kind, loving individual whose energetic spirit is evident in everything that she does.
I first met Debbie Mohr in 1999 when her family moved to Bluffton. That was the year my father left his position, and Debbie’s husband took over as the pastor of English Lutheran Church.
The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference partnered with Samaritan’s Feet International for the third consecutive year during the 2015 football season and held a shoe distribution at Holy Cross School in Indianapolis Wednesday morning.
Members of the All-HCAC football team and coaching staffs were present as over 200 children received a brand new pair of shoes due to their fundraising efforts during the season.

That’s the way Ruth Roider describes her vision for Gallery for the Arts, which opened at 115 S. Main St., Ada. The gallery serves two purposes: as a place for local artists to display and sell their creations and as Roider’s own working art studio.
Tickets are available for the third concert in the 2015-16 Bluffton University Artist Series for pianist Ann-Marie McDermott at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 18, in Yoder Recital Hall.
McDermott has played concertos, recitals and chamber music in hundreds of cities throughout the United States, Europe and Asia. She is described as, “one of our great under-the-radar pianists,” in a career that spans more than 25 years.
