Della A. Thompson, 61, of Ada died at 11:47 a.m., March 5, 2016, at Bridge Hospice, Findlay.  Della was born March 10, 1954, in Kenton to Newt and Evelyn Smith Thompson and they preceded her in death. 

Della worked in the cafeteria at Ohio Northern University.  She was a member of Riley Creek Baptist Church, Bluffton, where she was active in the Ladies Bible Study and helped in the nursery.  She loved to read the Bible.  Della was a 1974 graduate of Ada High School.

By now, you’ve noticed our signs about town.  Each one exclaims, “Vote for your library,” and with this article, we’re here to explain why. 
 
Bluffton Public Library currently has a 1-mil tax levy in place, which supports everyday operations.  This came at a time when our library so desperately needed the support. 

Emily Metzger is the Bluffton High School February student of the month.

Emily is a junior with a 3.846 grade point average and is the daughter of Mike and Amy Metzger of Bluffton.

Emily is a member of the Bluffton High School volleyball and track teams.  In 2015 she received the "Pirate Award" in volleyball. She also competes on the Bluffton powerlifting team.

Other school activities she is involved in are Latin Club, FCA and the prom committee. She volunteers at both the High School and the elementary school.

Here are lunch specials from March 9 to 11 at Jeanne's Kitchen.

On Friday, March 11, is a "tribute to spring." The dinner includes appetizers, strawberry salad, oven-fried chicken or fresh fish, Karen's homemade potato salad, root vegetables and homemade dessert.

The Bluffton University art department will present its 49th annual Juried Student Exhibition from March 21-April 1 in the Grace Albrecht Gallery in Sauder Visual Arts Center.

The exhibition, which is free and open to the public, will showcase work created this academic year by students in university art classes or supervised independent studies.

Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and 1-5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

Apollo Career Center will hold its fourth annual Apollopalooza on Thursday, April 14, 5:30-7 p.m.

Yes, what a different a year makes. One year later, (below) here's Misha Groman practicing a serve as a warm up for the 2016 tennis season.

Temperatures were in the high 60s when this photo was taken. Last year we didn't check the temperature when the snow shoveling photo was taken, but it was at least a 35 degree difference.

Miev Chan of Bluffton is one of the panelists in a Findlay-Hancock County Public Library program on immigration taking place this week.

The Findlay-Hancock County Public Library, in coordination with Findlay/Hancock County Welcoming Community Initiative, will hold a panel discussion highlighting “Unknown Local Stories of Immigration” from 6-7 p.m. Thursday, March 10 at Glenwood Middle School, Findlay.

The event will provide a local perspective on immigration through the eyes of area residents who are immigrants from Cambodia, Philippines, Mexico and Germany.

Bluffton University’s Camerata Singers, back from a spring-break tour in five states, will reprise the tour program "Songs of Praise and Love” during the annual Camerata Home Concert on Sunday, March 20. The concert, beginning at 2:30 p.m. in Yoder Recital Hall, is free and open to the public.
