August 2016

You'll soon see more garage sales listed on the Icon than in any other week of the year. You might say that it’s a heavenly weekend for garage sale buyers and sellers.

It’s Main Street Across America’s Lincoln Highway Buy Way Yard Sale Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Aug. 11-12-13, and Bluffton happens to be a couple miles of the action.

Beaverdam mayor Roberta Beemer told the Icon that may Beaverdam residents will participate.

Deciding that investing in Bluffton is a great idea, Connie and Ken Kruse have officially moved Town and Country Flowers to its news location at 124 N. Main St. The move took place at the first of the month.

The shop is open for business and, according to Connie, the shop is very busy.

The mural is growing.

If there's such thing as a parallel universe, this photo is proof.

Last week the Icon owners spent a couple hours in Bluffton, South Carolina, while on a vacation in the south.

"We tried to be normal tourists, but when we came upon a Bluffton police cruiser and two officers, we let our secret out," said Fred Steiner. "This photo was too good to pass up."

In addition to the police photo, several additional photos of the Bluffton area posted here.
