Ohio Northern University HealthWise Pharmacy, Ada, will hold its next covid-19 vaccination clinic this week.
The clinic is from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday, March 19. Vacciination appointments are for persons 50 and older, or with qualifying occupations or medical conditions.

Jenna Downey, Camden Verb and Riley Verb swim for the Putnam County YMCA swim team under assistant coach, Bob Verb of Bluffton. Jackson Bowlus, Allison Diller, Kari Diller, Xavier Diller, June Essinger, Levin Essinger, Mason Shank and Madelyn Sterrett swim for the Lima YMCA swim team coached by April Dorman of Bluffton. In the summer, they all swim for the Bluffton Sardines.
During the 2012-13 school year, the Icon posted a series of interviews with Bluffton third graders. We’ve revisited one of those interviews eight school years later, thanks to BHS student Tayler Nowak-Valentine, who completed a follow-up interview this month. She also took the follow-up photo.
The four students interviewed were Caitlin Dailey, Delaney Maple, Kylie Monday and Libby Frazier, now juniors at Bluffton HS.
Cleveland State wrestler, DeAndre Nassar, a Bluffton High School gradute, competes in this weekend's NCAA Division I wrestling championships.

MARION - Bluffton junior wrestler Kaden Basil participated in the Div. III state wrestling meet Saturday at Marion Harding High School.
Basil went 0-2 Saturday in the 160 lbs. class to finish his season with a 38-8 record.
Basil lost his first round match by an 11-4 decision to Jefferson Area senior Colt Edgar (38-6).
In the first consolation round, Basil faced off against senior Colton Meek (22-3) of Newcomerstown. Meek edged Basil 7-6 to knock him out of the double-elimination competition.

Gareth “Jake” Basinger, 81, died March 11, 2021 at Venice Regional Hospital in Venice Florida. He was born June 2, 1939, in Orange Township to the late Lendon and Dorothy Basinger.
Jake was a graduate of Bluffton High School and served in the United States Army. On June 8, 1963, he married Tommie Robinson.
Jake is survived by his wife, Tommie Basinger of Bluffton; two children, Gina (Drew) Chambers of Powell, Ohio, Scott Basinger of Bluffton; and five grandchildren, Alec Chambers, Andrea Chambers, Brady Basinger, Brett Basinger and Brien Basinger.
Tim Closson, a fixture in Bluffton schools and currently Bluffton elementary principal, has announced his retirement effective June 30.
Closson, who attended school in Bluffton all 12 years – including fifth to eighth grade in Beaverdam - and graduated in 1979, has served as Bluffton elementary principal for 14 years.
He also graduated from Bluffton College, where he majored in business and education.
Prior to being hired as elementary principal at Bluffton, he was employed in Ada, Shawnee and Wayne Trace school systems.
