FROM BLUFFTON PIRATES TWITTER - Bluffton Athletic Boosters and the Bluffton HS student senate donated these T-shirts to all BHS juniors, sophomores, freshmen, eighth and seventh graders this week.

There's also what appears to be a hot tub, child's bike, and an assortment of items to numerous to mention. This week is Bluffton clean-up week and continues until Thursday. Better hurry, these deals won't be available until next May.

Northwest State Community College graduates will continue their BSN studies in the fall with classes at Bluffton

Five Bluffton University nursing majors recently graduated from Northwest State Community College with their associate degrees.

Four of the students were also inducted into Alpha Delta Nu, the nursing honor society at NSCC.

As a dual-degree program, Bluffton University nursing majors must first complete their foundational nursing classes and earn their associate degrees before completing their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) at Bluffton. 

Heather Amstutz Ferrao, daughter of Bob and Beverly Amstutz, will speak at Maple Grove

After a one-year absence, Bluffton will observe Memorial Day (Monday, May 31) with an in-person ceremony at the Memorial Circle at Maple Grove, following the traditional parade through the village.

Heather Amstutz Ferrao, daughter of Robert and Beverly Amstutz of Bluffton, is this year’s speaker at Maple Grove.

The parade forms at 9 a.m. at the town hall and moves out at 9:30 a.m. The Maple Grove service is at 10 a.m.

Bluffton Center for Entrepreneurs shares details on Thursday

The Bluffton Center for Entrepreneurs will host an online discussion about growing your business through networking groups at 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 27. Julia George of Blackhoof Title Agency in Bluffton will introduce viewers to the Beantown Business Professionals chapter.

The Beantown group is one of 27 BNI (Business Networking International) chapters in Northwest Ohio. It meets weekly at the Lima Public Library.

Paula A. Augsburger, 67, died May 23, 2021, at Lima Memorial Health System.  Paula was born Feb. 5, 1954, in Bluffton, Ohio, to the late Gary and Ruth (White) Meeker. She had been married to Michael Augsburger.

Paula was a graduate of Elida High School and had been a housekeeper at Lima Memorial Health System. She attended the Christian Assembly Worship Center, Lima. Paula was an avid reader and enjoyed baking, crafting and most of all, spending time with her family. 

Grand reopening Friday, June 4, with lots of musical options for all ages

FROM ADA ICON - As businesses and events reopen after being closed for a year, the Icon is posting stories on both Icons relating to Ada and Bluffton.

A grand reopening of Vicki’s Music Studio and Noteworthy Community Choir is set for  5 to 7:30 p.m., Friday, June 4, at the studio, 2613 State Route 81, Ada, according to Vicki Mills, studio owner.

“We invite all interested persons to visit our studio, meet our instructors and register for all summer classes and camps,” said Mills.

What are the odds of two Bluffton couples running into each other at the Belvidere Oasis, near the Illinois-Wisconsin border on Interstate 90?

It’s over 300 miles from Bluffton and nearly 6 hours from Bluffton – in a different time zone.

Well, Paula and Rob Scott got out of town last week to visit relatives in Madison, Wisconsin.

And Mary and Fred Steiner did the same, heading to La Crosse, Wisconsin. Both couples took a pit stop at the same time last Saturday at the Belvidere Oasis, just outside Rockford, Illinois.
