The Bluffton University men's basketball team went on the road after a 14-day break and took down Franklin College 70-65 for its first HCAC victory of the season on Saturday, Jan. 15, 2022. Bluffton improved to 5-7 overall and 1-4 in the Heartland, while Franklin fell to 7-9 and 3-5 in the conference.

It's been a while since I've written a review, as my wife had an emergency back surgery and an extended stay in the hospital that has kept me busy doing other things than writing.
But even as immediate as my time has been recently this book has been on my mind quite a bit. Once again, it comes recommended by a member of the Ada book club, and is justified as a good read.

I have been learning many things in school that have inspired me to write about them. In government, we are memorizing the amendments. Even the early amendments to the U.S. Constitution that trace back to the 1800s are still extremely relevant. Dementia is a general term used to describe various symptoms of cognitive decline including impairment in memory, communication and thinking, which is caused by damage to cells in the brain. The symptoms do not appear suddenly but build over time and become more noticeable. Damage can occur for many reasons including increased proteins inside and outside of brain cells, lack of oxygen to the brain, stroke, genetics, medication side effects, depression, alcohol use, and thyroid and vitamin deficiencies.

Bluffton trailed 15-14 after the first period, but then took command with a 17-7 second stanza. Leipsic edged within 43-37 after three quarters. The Pirates pulled away with an 18-12 final period to win by 12.
The Bluffton High School girls basketball team rallied from a big deficit only to lose a 41-39 thriller at first-year league member Leipsic in Northwest Conference play Thursday night, January 13.
Bluffton trailed 11-0 after a scoreless first quarter and faced an uphill climb. The Pirate girls rallied with a 19-point second stanza, putting the score at 23-19 at halftime.
The teams had an even 7-7 result in the third quarter. Bluffton outscored the Viking girls 13-11 in the fourth quarter, but finished two points shy of Leipsic’s total.
Effective Monday, January 17, 2022, Blanchard Valley Health System (BVHS), including Bluffton Hospital, will be further limiting the number of visitors coming into the organization due to the increased transmission in the community and rise in COVID-19 cases.
