The Allen County Board of Elections has posted sample ballots for Bluffton precincts A, B and C for the November 8, 2022 general election at www.allen.boe.ohio.gov

Bluffton resident Dennis Sheidler completed a 14-year section hike of the Appalachian Trail (2194.3 miles) on July 5, 2022.

Sheidler passed along this photo and his "thanks to all the people who supported me along the way and friends who showed interest in my journey."

He notes that the northern trail ends atop Mt. Katahdin, which is just shy of 1 mile high. His hiking pole tips just reach that height. 

The Business Fair at Bluffton University is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 19.

Beaver Homecoming and Alumni Weekend
Bluffton University will celebrate Homecoming and Alumni Weekend 2022 on Friday, Oct. 14-Sunday, Oct. 16. 

Homecoming and Alumni Weekend events will be open to all alumni, students, faculty, staff, parents and friends of the university. Along with cheering on the Beavers football, golf and soccer teams, the university will host alumni gatherings, campus tours, food trucks, Beaver Tail-Gating and more.

Tickets for adults are $25 and tickets for children ages 5-17 are $15. Students and faculty/staff with current Bluffton ID will have access to Saturday’s activities for free.  

Registration includes a ticket to the football game on Saturday, a Homecoming 2022 t-shirt and a meal for Saturday’s Food Truck Extravaganza. Registration is required for all events.

Donna and Dennis Morrison were married on October 7, 1972 in Fayette, Ohio.

Dennis recalls, "Rev. Carter was our minister at the Bluffton Methodist Church, but he got transferred to the Methodist church in Fayette, Ohio.

"So we decided to go there and be married.with our long time friend Rev. Carter. We had a very small wedding, just our parents and Donna's Aunts and my brothers and a few friends..

The Bluffton High School boys soccer team lost a 2-1 battle to visiting power Ottawa Hills Thursday evening, October 6, in non-conference play.

The Pirates had their seven-match win streak snapped as they fell to 8-5-1 this season with the loss. 

The Green Bears improved to 10-4-1 with the win.

Ottawa Hills scored with 16 minutes left to break a 1-1 tie and earn the win.

The visitors scored first on an Adam Ayad penalty kick in the 19th minute.

The score stayed 1-0 to intermission.

COLUMBUS GROVE--The visiting Bluffton High School volleyball team swept a three-setter at Columbus Grove in a Northwest Conference match Thursday evening, October 6.

The decisive 25-20, 25-18, 25-22 win upped the overall Bluffton record to 13-7 this season, and their league mark improved to 4-3. 

The Bulldogs dropped to 3-15 and 1-6 in the NWC with the defeat.

Ayla Grandey hammered 15 kills to pace Bluffton. Kendall Stackhouse knocked down nine kills and added two blocks.

CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Bluffton University women's soccer team traveled to Mount St. Joseph University on a beautiful Wednesday, Oct. 5, but came home with a 2-0 loss. The Beavers dropped to 2-7-1 overall (1-2 HCAC) while the Lions, picked to finish 2nd in the conference, improved to 6-5-2 overall (2-0-1 HCAC).

The Bluffton University volleyball team battled to a 3-1 victory over a scrappy Manchester University squad on Wednesday, Oct. 5. The Beavers improved to 13-6 overall (1-1 HCAC) while the Spartans fell to 10-11 (0-3 HCAC).
