In the mood for a good garage sale? So far, Spring 2023 has only sent one true garage sale–the kind where you walk up the driveway and see what’s on hand–the Icon’s way.

However, this week from Thursday, March 30 to the morning of Monday, April 3, the Bluffton Senior Citizens Center will provide a great big, warm and dry garage sale indoors at 132 N. Main.

The Village of Bluffton has announced a Parks & Recreation Committee meeting on Tuesday, March 28 at 4:00 p.m.

The meeting will be at the Bluffton Town Hall, 154 N. Main St.

As we look forward to the months of April and May, our calendars will be filling up with family and community activities.

RICHMOND, Ky.--The Bluffton University men's golf team was all over it on Sunday, March 26, firing a school-record 295 at the Battlefield Golf Club. The Beavers broke the previous 18-hole mark by seven strokes and finished the Alice Lloyd Invitational in 5th place with a 622. Bluffton's 295 was the second-lowest team score of the weekend.

Rev. Valerie Bridgman, Ph.D., dean and vice president of academic affairs and associate professor of homiletics and Hebrew Bible at Methodist Theological School in Ohio, Delaware, Ohio, will present Bluffton University’s annual Keeney Peace Lecture Forum on April 4.

The League of Women Voters of the Lima Area will hold an informational meeting on Honesty for Ohio Education-Book Banning at 6:30 p.m.on Tuesday, March 28 at the Lima Public Library, 650 W. Market St. Lima.

The guest speaker will be Cynthia Peeples, who will be joined by Professor Kathleen Baril of Ohio Northern University. This meeting is open to the public.

This past weekend, George and Joann Farling celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with close family and friends at Bluffton Town Hall.

George is from Pandora and Joann is from Findlay. They met on a blind date. The couple was married March 25, 1973 at The First Christian Church in Findlay.

They have three children, Scott (Myndi) Farling, Heidi (Chad) Wise and Wade (Jenna) Farling and eight grandchildren. Abby, Issy, Allison, Carli, Jersey, Kinsley, Bentley and Lincoln.

George retired from Stoops Freightliner as a body shop manager. Joann retired from the Hilty Memorial Home as a environmental aide. She continues to work part time at Citizens National Bank.
