Bluffton High School to host 1:00 p.m. Watch Party

Blufftonite Trevor Bassitt advances to the August 7 semi-finals in the men's 400m hurdles at the 2024 Paris Olympics following a successful run in the first heat of the August 6 Repechage Rounds.
Bluffton Exempted Village Schools have announced the 2024-2025 program year policy free and reduced price meals for students unable to pay the full price of meals or milk served under the National School Lunch and School Breakfast.
Each school office and the central office has a copy of the policy, which may be reviewed by any interested party. The State of Ohio Budget for school year 2024-2025 includes funding to cover the cost of reduced meals for breakfast and lunch. This provision allows schools to provide no cost meals to reduced price meal eligible students.
The Federal Income Eligibility Guidelines will be used to determine eligibility. Children from families whose annual income is at or below the federal guidelines are eligible for free and reduced-price meals.. ▶️

Official 2024 Paris Olympics data for Trevor Bassitt

In the wee hours of the morning on August 5, Bluffton native Trevor Bassitt competed in his first Olympic games and the first Olympic games for any Bluffton athlete. He placed fifth in Heat 2 of the men’s 400m hurdles at the Stade de France.
Bill and Louise Watkins are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary this month.
Bill and Louise were marrided on August 17, 1974 at United Methodist Church in Pandora, Ohio
Their children are Josh (Ashley) Watkins of East Sparta, Ohio and Megan Given of Westerville, Ohio. Grandchildren are Devon, Joslyn, and Dylan Watkins, and Ellie and Isla Given.
Bill is the former President and Chief Administrative Officer of Bluffton Hospital and Blanchard Valley Medical Practices. Louise Watkins is a former Transcriptionist and Medical Secretary for Radiology at Bluffton Hospital.
The couple has over 80 years combined services in healthcare; both retired from BVHS in 2015.
When Trevor Bassitt crossed the finish line at the U.S. Olympic Trials in Eugene, Oregon and became Bluffton’s first ever Olympian, people all over town celebrated. Congratulations poured in and excited comments abounded on social media–but for the Bassitt family it all hit a little deeper.
