Kauffman colloquium 4 p.m.

Dr. Ross Kauffman, assistant professor of public health at Bluffton University, will discuss "Open Source Resources for Teaching and Research" in a campus colloquium at 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18, in Stutzman Lecture Hall in Centennial Hall. The event is free and open to the public.
"Many of us think of computer software when we hear the term 'open source,' but an open source philosophy can be applied to everything from cakes to textbooks," says Kauffman, adding that his presentation "will explore the principles of open source and how we can apply them to foster exploration and learning."
A first-year faculty member at Bluffton, Kauffman holds a Ph.D. in epidemiology and a master's degree in public health, both from The Ohio State University. His bachelor's degree in biology and environmental science is from Eastern Mennonite University.
