Downtown merchants chocolate walk Thursday

Only 200 tickets available

Bluffton’s first-ever downtown chocolate walk takes place from 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday, sponsored by the Bluffton downtown merchants.

The event is limited to 200 tickets. Tickets are $10 each. Each ticket holder will be eligible for a free chocolate treat at each participating merchants.

The contest includes multi-choice questions, so you can enter even if you don’t have a clue about this year’s movies.

The Oscars ceremony is held on Sunday evening, Feb. 9. The deadline to enter the contest is 6 p.m. on Sunday. The winner receives 6 passes to the Shannon Theatre, Bluffton

to explore education as a major during university event

High school students are invited to learn more about Bluffton University’s Educator Preparation Program, the demands and rewards of teaching, and career routes for education majors during a special event for high school sophomores, juniors and seniors hosted by the Bluffton Education Organization (BEO).

Apollo Career Center hosts school board members

Kick off of Career Tech Education Month

Apollo Career Center will kick off Career Tech Education Month with the annual all area boards meeting held Thursday, Feb. 6, at 6 p.m. in the Apollo Commons. Apollo Superintendent Keith Horner will be providing opening remarks beginning at 6:45 p.m..

Bob Wrasman, a 1979 graduate of Apollo’s Auto Body Repair and Allen East, and Paul Conner, a 1996 graduate of Apollo’s Welding and Fabrication and Allen East, will be inducted into the Alumni Hall of Fame. Gina Place, Wapakoneta, will be recognized as the Charles M. Hankish, Jr. Student Citizen of the Year.
