The September monthly meeting of the Bluffton Ohio Historical Society will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 11 on the third floor of Bluffton Town Hall.
Among discussion items will be the upcoming Centennial of Bluffton's Harmon Field in October. The society will discuss what ways it might be involved in this event and also discuss plans for recording conversations with some of our community members.
Roger "Hawk" Hoffman of Tavares, FL. and formerly Bluffton, OH and Eshbach, Pa. died on September 1, 2024. Roger was born on Feb. 1st, 1952 to the late Roger Melvin Hoffman & Dorothy (Fronheiser) Hoffman who are both deceased.
Roger married the love of his life Sandra (Sam) Karhoff on Aug. 17, 1974 who survives.
Survivors include two children, Andrea Mahone of Lima, OH. and Michael (Cari) Hoffman of Nashville, Tenn. 4 grandchildren Milan and Myles Mahone, Monroe and Reese Hoffman.
The Bluffton Community Assistance Program has identified the following needs for September 2024. They ask that donated items be at St. John's no later than Tuesday evening, September 17, in order for workers to sort and shelve donations by Wednesday morning, September 18 for distribution on September 21. Items can also be dropped off at Bluffton Town Hall, 154 N. Main St.

LIMA __ The Bluffton High School golf team won a four-team Northwest Conference quadrangular match at the Oaks Golf Club on Thursday, September 5.
The Pirates finished first easily with just 176 strokes. LCC was a distant second at 207 shots, followed by Delphos Jefferson (214) and Spencerville (315).
The Pirates improved their record to 11-2 overall and 7-1 in the NWC after the sweep to stay atop the conference standings.
