While it was stinking hot on June 21, 2022, we didn't quite reach the record high.

Weather.com reported that Bluffton reached 98 degrees yesterday, with the record high remaining 101 degrees.

In 1974 WBGU-TV produced the 58-minute documentary "Bluffton, USA." Recently, the Icon watched it with great interest at the Bluffton Senior Center. When we called to inquire, WBGU put it at the head of the line for its new streaming service and you can now watch the show at

Tyler Justin Kiracofe, age 22, of Bluffton, passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at his home, surrounded by his family. 

Tyler was born on May 22, 2000, to Justin A. and Danyelle S. (Holbrook) Kiracofe of Bluffton, Ohio.  He lived at home with both parents and his younger brother, Travis Kiracofe.   

He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Diann Holbrook; and his paternal grandparents: Jerry and Judy Kiracofe. 

Register by June 23 for Cardio Drumming, which will be held at Bluffton Family Recreation on Thursday, June 30 @ 6:00 p.m.

  • All will be entered into a drawing for a free BFR Guest Pass and other BFR items.
  • Open to all ages (children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian for the duration of the program).
  • Limited number of workout balls available. When you register, please note whether you will need one.

 

 

The Southgate Open, an annual fundraising event for local non-profits and families, has filled all golf team slots for the August 13 event at Bluffton Golf Club.

Southgate Lanes also announced: 

  • Joe Lewis music on the patio
  • Team payments: $300 in advance; $340 on the day of the outing with 100% of the extra $40 going to the Bluffton food pantry

Last year this outing donated just under $10K.
