Bluffton's second National Night Out is from 6 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 4, at the Bluffton Community Swimming Pool, according to Matt Oglesbee of the Bluffton police department.

The department, in conjunction with the Pandora Police Department are in charge of the event and the Bluffton, Beaverdam and Pandora fire and EMS departments will participate. 

Kevin King, Bluffton High School volleyball coach, offers some direction to varsity players during a short volleyball camp this week at the high school.

A new vendor to this year’s Bluffton Farmers’ Market is the Brown family from Lima. Customers know them best as Sweet Dream Gourmet.

Their specialty: homemade jams and biscotti.

According to Julie Brown, the business is six years old and it also has a vendor booth at several other area farmers markets.

Bluffton Senior Citizens Center celebrates its 45th year in operation this fall. The Center offers special polo shirts with the organization's logo. Shirts are $16 each and eight sizes are available. Orders taken at the Center.

Bicycle enthusiasts may register for the inaugural Ride to Remember bicycle ride held  in Bluffton.

The event offers short bike routes for families interested in biking together all the way to a 100-mile route for experienced riders starting and ending at Bluffton Family Recreation.

Fresh off its recent announcement of two franchise locations in the Toledo and Columbus areas, Shirley’s Gourmet Popcorn Company announced that its fourth Ohio store will open in Findlay this fall.

Franchisees Jennifer and Jason Swartzlander, of Bluffton, will own and operate a store in the Interstate Plaza, just off of I-75 on Trenton Avenue in Findlay. They say their deep connections to the community, belief in the Shirley’s Gourmet Popcorn concept, and an ideal location made them confident in joining the Shirley’s family of franchisees.
