The Four Deuces Car Club will hold a cruise-in-the-park Saturday, July 4 at the Pandora Park, State Route 12, Pandora. Awards will include top 20 plus six specialry awards, and dash plaques to first 100 entries.
Registration is from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. with a $10 entry fee. Awards will be named at 3:30 p.m.
There will be food, including a chicken barbecue. Pre-sale tickets for the barbecue are available at Ted's Market, 419-384-3407. The event also includes crafts, vendors, a bake sale, and a 50/50 drawing.
The Hancock County Firefighters' Association is pleased to award the 2015 Potts/Parcher Memorial Scholarship to Brent Warren of Jenera. Warren will be a sophomore at Eastern Kentucky University in the Fire Protection - Fire Safety Engineering program. He is a 2014 graduate of Cory-Rawson High School where he was a member of the FFA and achieved his State Degree in 2014. Brent is currently the Hancock County Junior Fair King and is a member of the Jenera Volunteer Fire Department.

A host of fall 2015 coaching positions were approved at the June 25 Bluffton school board meeting.
In addition, the board approved several classified substitute custodians, bus drivers, cafeteria works, secretaries and educational aides.
The board also approved elementary summer academy certified contracts. Those contracts, at $21.15 per hour, were awarded to Janelle Bogart, Christine McCafferty, Heidi Steiner, Ryan Dunlap, Barbara Maag, Linda Sycks, Christy Garmatter and Brandie Stackhouse. Summer academy is from Aug. 10 to Aug. 21.
Rebecca Lapp returned to Guatemala to volunteer at the same orphanage she had visited following a semester-abroad program last fall.
Courtney Seffernick, meanwhile, sampled social work-related opportunities at an inpatient hospice center and a nonprofit organization in northwest Ohio.
Near or far, though, both Bluffton University students explored the link between vocation and faith as the 2015 recipients of $1,500 Summer Discovery Grants from the university.
