The Bluffton University men's soccer team heads north to Albion College to open the 2023 season on Friday, Sept. 1, the first of four straight road matches before UC-Clermont travels to the Sears Complex for the Beaver home opener on Wednesday, Sept. 13. The HCAC lidlifter is slated for Wednesday, Sept. 27, when Transylvania makes the trek up Interstate 75 for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff. Rival Defiance College will be in the house on Wednesday, Oct. 18. The regular season wraps up with road trips to Rose-Hulman and Manchester.
FINDLAY—The Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation is seeking proposals for grants for the upcoming Solar Eclipse in 2024. Potential projects should be focused on education and educational activities related to the eclipse, which will take place on April 8, 2024.
“Two of the priorities the community identified through Community Conversations 2022 were affordable, family-friendly community activities and education,” said Brian Treece, President & CEO of the Foundation. “With those two things in mind, coupled with this rare event, we want to make sure as much of the community can benefit from these grants as possible to experience this phenomenon together.”
Nonprofit organizations, including government entities, providing services to residents of Findlay and Hancock County, Ohio are invited to complete a short application requesting funding for their projects. Priority will be given to educational opportunities leading up to and related to this meteorological phenomenon.
Bluffton Scrap Artist Quilters detail impact of quilts for veterans

For sixteen years, Bluffton American Legion Post 382 has hosted a fun charitable golf outing with a serious purpose. The event raises funds for local nonprofits and charitable organizations, including those that support area veterans.
The Bluffton Community Pool will be reopening on Wednesday, August 23 from 12:00-3:00 and Thursday from 12:00 to 4:00 to provide residents with a way to cool off. The National Weather Service has issued an Excessive Heat Watch in effect from Thursday morning-Thursday Evening. Heat index values up to 110 are possible.
