Blanchard Valley Health System (BVHS) has named Gulshan Mehta as the organization’s chief digital and information officer (CDIO).

Before joining BVHS, Mehta, on behalf of the Oracle Corporation, was the head of the Bear Institute for Health Innovation at Children’s National Health System (Washington, D.C.).

The Bluffton University volleyball team is ready to build on a solid 2022 campaign that saw the Beavers go 16-11 and get back into the Heartland Conference tournament after a one-year hiatus snapped Bluffton's string of 13 straight berths. The Beavers won four straight HCAC tournament titles from 2013 through 2016 after their first HCAC championship in 2009 when Bluffton went 27-6 with an 8-0 mark in the conference.

VOLLEYBALL
The Bluffton High School volleyball team lost in three straight sets at non-league foe Shawnee Monday evening, August 21.

The Indians won 25-18, 25-13, 25-13. Kelly Cooper hit for 15 kills, while Addie Maxwell doled out 36 assists and Grace Freiberger mustered up 19 digs.

Last Saturday, Bluffton opened its season with a five-set win at Kalida.

After winning the first two sets the Pirates staved off a Wildcat comeback to win the marathon match 25-19, 25-18, 22-25, 11-25, 15-9.

Kendall Stackhouse and Ayla Grandey led the victors with 10 kills apiece. Grandey also served four aces. Setter Gracie Yarnell dished out 21 assists, while libero Avery Talavinia came up with 24 digs.

The Pirate girls (1-1) host local rival Pandora-Gilboa Thursday, August 24.

BOYS GOLF
The Bluffton High School boys golf team finished second in a close three-team Northwest Conference match Monday, August 21, at Pike Run Golf Course.

FINDLAY– The Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation has welcomed two new members to the Board of Trustees, Bill Conlisk and Alissa Preston.

The support group GriefShare is returning to Bluffton beginning on September 7. GriefShare is for those who have lost a loved one, whether that loss is recent or not. The group meets weekly with the aim to be a warm, caring environment that will help participants on the long path through grief toward healing and hope for the future.
