The fourth Lenten service will be held at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jenera, at 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 14. Pastor Al Schmitzer will speak on "Glory Be to Jesus" and the choir will sing "We Will Glorify." A light supper will be served at 5:30 p.m.

March 17 marks the 30th anniversary of the pancake and sausage benefit shared between the Bluffton Senior Citizens Center and Bluffton Lions.
Tonya Meyers of the Senior Center provided The Icon with some interested background on the event.
Betty Cookson was the director of the Bluffton Senior Citizens' Center in 1983 during the first Pancake and Sausage Benefit put on by the Bluffton Senior Center and the Bluffton Lions Club.
"John Gilbert, president of the Lions Club, came and asked if we would consider having a pancake day with the Lions, but in our building.
Area families are welcome to spend an evening of play at BFR on Friday,
March 16, according to Carole Enneking.
The gymnasium will be open for informal recreation from 7-9 p.m.
Half of the gym will be open for basketball, while the other half will be
an obstacle course for smaller children.
In addition, an informal tennis tournament will be held for youth ages 6-10 years of age. Tennis will be played on a small-sized court using the low bounce balls.
Bluffton First United Methodist Church will hold a planning meeting for the upcoming community meal to be held at the Senior Citizen Center. This meeting will he held at 6:30 p.m., Monday, March 19, the church. Thank you in advance to anyone interested in helping with this community service.
