For the first time in its ten year history, local National Night Out celebrations weren't protected by the so-called Bluffton Bubble, a mythical ability to keep storms at a distance. However, plans for food, fun and fireworks on Tuesday night were successfully moved to Wednesday, August 7 after heavy storms and tornado threats were forecast.

The Blanchard Valley Health System (BVHS) Board of Trustees has appointed Kirby Overton, Ed.D., dean of the College of Business, University of Findlay, as its newest trustee. In addition to her service as a member of the board, Dr. Overton will also serve as a member of the BVHS Compliance and Audit Committee.

The work of new Bluffton author Tom Arnold has arrived at virtual and local retailers with the story of sculptor and poet Dewey Severs (1941-2020), who worked a variety of physically demanding jobs until three heart attacks left him bankrupt.

Just Dewey: A Journey from Poverty to Creative Genius tells how Dewey began dreaming of creating art with horseshoes and saw God giving him a new direction in life. The book follows Dewey from a childhood filled with hardship in the Missouri Ozarks, through his becoming a husband and father, to finally settling near Albuquerque, New Mexico.
