Bluffton-Pandora Campus Life summer pool parties are underway. Each Wednesday evening parties are held at the Bluffton Community Swimming Pool.

Admission is $3 each and the parties are open to students entering grades seven to 12 next fall. Pool parties are from 9 to 10:30 p.m.

Note: Bluffton's Relay for Life is Friday and Saturday, June 24-25 at the Bluffton University football field.

Two American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Bluffton teams are passionate about the fight to end cancer.

Team One - DTR has participated in the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Bluffton since 2002 and has resulted in over $50,000 in contributions from our associates to the American Cancer Society for cancer research.

Bluffton Hospital invites the community to a preview of the new Bluffton Hospital Emergency Department and Surgery Department on Sunday, June 19 from 2 to 4 p.m.

The preview will include tours of the new surgery suites and emergency treatment rooms. Bluffton Hospital nurses, staff and volunteers will be available to answer questions. Refreshments will be served.

Sunday is the public open house of the Bluffton Hospital renovation. Here is a view of the first floor.

The Bluffton Sardines swim team launched its 2011 season with one win and one close loss. Bluffton lost to Ada/Lost Creek 328-290 and doubled the score on Van Wert 657-332.

Betty C. Montague

Betty C. Montague, 87, of Bluffton died at 6:25 p.m. June 16, 2011, at Richland Manor, Bluffton. She was born in Hardin County on Feb. 19, 1924 to Fred and Viola Snyder Guyton.

On April 19, 1947 she married Ervil Gene Montague and preceded her in death on October 21, 2004.

Mrs. Montague retired from Lima Register and had also worked at Davidson Enamel, Lima. She was a member of the First Missionary Church, Lima where she had been a Sunday school teacher. She was a graduate of Ada High School.
