To market, to market, to buy a...there are no pigs at the Bluffton Farmer's Market. But there are plenty of other things to eat and to plant. This view of the first market of the season on May 1 is from the Backyard Perennials and More booth operated by Cindy Basinger. The market is open each Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to noon in the Citizens National Bank parking lot.

Voters in the Bluffton school district approved the renewal of an income tax levy for the schools on May 4. The renewal passed in the following totals:

The year 2010 marks the Centennial of the Boy Scouts of America. Over the years, histories have been written regarding the Boy Scouts in town.

Two 2010 Bluffton University graduates, Kristen Shelly and Devon Matthews, will be married on May 29.

Kristen is the daughter of Mark and Kathy Shelly of Penfield, N.Y. She is a 2006 graduate of Penfield High School and 2010 graduate of Bluffton University.

Devon is the son of Lawrence and Louise Matthews of Bluffton. He is a 2006 graduate of Bluffton High School and 2010 graduate of Bluffton University.

An outdoor ceremony is planned Saturday afternoon, May 29, at Webster Park, Rochester, N.Y.

Brandon Herr and Brock Miller, who completed their Bluffton University football careers last fall, have been named to the 2010 National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame (NFF) Hampshire Honor Society.

The honor society is comprised of college football players from all divisions of play who maintained a grade point average of 3.2 or better during their undergraduate study.

A National KiddieTractor Pull is part of this year's Hometown Amerifest, planned in Bluffton in late June.

Amerifest is sponsored by Bluffton Lions Foundation, Bluffton-Pandora Rotary Club and Relay for Life. It is a weekend that combines the Festival of Wheels, Freedom Festival and Cancer Walk.

The kiddie tractor pull is open to youth ages 3 to 10 and will take place Saturday, June 26. Registration is from 1 to 2 p.m. on Vine Street, Bluffton. The tractor pull begins at 2 p.m.

The "pull" is sponsored by the Bluffton Lions Foundation and an anonymous donor.
