Bridge Home Health & Hospice, a division of Blanchard Valley Health System, is offering a “Sprouting Hope” grief support program that allows children ages 6 to 12 to come together with their peers and participate in activities that will help them express their feelings, create lasting memories of their loved ones and have fun. 

This event will take place on Thursday, May 16, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Marathon Auditorium at Blanchard Valley Hospital.

Part of the ‘Living Through Loss’ Series at Blanchard Valley Hospital

The final presentation of the “Living through Loss” series will be held on Monday, May 20, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and titled “Reinvesting in Life: Discussing Growth, Reconciliation and Renewal.” This presentation will take place in the Marathon Auditorium at Blanchard Valley Hospital located at 1900 South Main Street in Findlay.

More than 200 undergrads and grad students particiipate in 119th commencement

Bluffton University graduates encouraged to determine ‘Who am I?’

The achievements of more than 200 undergraduate and graduate students were celebrated on Sunday, May 5, during Bluffton University’s 119th Commencement ceremony.

Nearly 3,000 faculty, family members and friends filled Sommer Center to witness the conferring of diplomas by President Jane Wood during her first Commencement at Bluffton.

The art students of Krysti's Music Studio have their works on display at the Mennonite Memorial Home for the month of May.

The students represented are Lena Brown, Morgan Grieshop, Owen Kohli, Ella Krupp, and Kizer Young. The students take private art lessons at the studio with teacher Vickie Garmon. 

Both directions for pavement evaulation

The following highway construction is scheduled to occur within Allen County the week of May 13, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation.

Work is dependent upon weather conditions, and unless otherwise noted, it will take place during daytime hours.

• Interstate 75 between the villages of Beaverdam and Bluffton will be restricted to one lane in both directions through the work zone for pavement evaluation next week.

Work is being performed by the ODOT District 1 capital programs department.

Bluffton High School's softball team won the Northwest Conference title on May 8 after defeating Allen East. The win earn the team a parade downtown in the 1920s-era Bluffton Studebaker fire truck. Click here for story details. (Amy Mortimer photo)
