The Bluffton Icon is approaching 7,000 Facebook fans! That makes us curious to know how many readers are new and how many have been reading for up to 16 years!
The Icon was founded in fall 2009 by Fred Steiner, who made the courageous leap from being the editor of a subscriber-based print newspaper to the editor free online news supported by local advertising. He created the Ada Icon in 2012.
In September 2021 I became the owner-editor of the Bluffton and Ada Icons. I work closely with website designer Ryan Lowry, who has been the technical director of the Icon since its inception. READ MORE
Here it is, the official Ride To Remember Jersey! These will be for sale when registration opens in a few weeks, for $50/jersey. You must order as soon as possible. ROSSFORD __ Seven Bluffton High School wrestlers battled for a spot in the state tournament at the Div. III district meet in Rossford, February 28-March 1.
Five of the seven Pirates won their first match Friday, with four of them then losing in the second round. Only sophomore Mason Shank advanced to the semifinals with two straight wins Friday in the 285 lbs. division.
Shank finished fourth in the heavyweight class Saturday to make it to the state event. Sophomore Evan Grothause ended up sixth in the 190 lbs. bracket.
A top-four finish at districts in any weight class qualified a wrestler for the state tournament at the Schottenstein Center in Columbus March 7-8. READ MORE
