Just in time for Halloween, Bluffton resident Fred Steiner will present “Where Bluffton’s ghosts sleep,” at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 30, in the Folsom Auditorium of the Allen County Historical Museum, 620 W. Market St., Lima.
Happy Halloween from the Bluffton Icon. The Village has designated 6:00-7:30 p.m. on October 27 for Trick or Treating.
To celebrate, the Icon is sharing a custom Bluffton coloring page featuring the scarecrow princess from Roots by Strattons, which recently won a Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce decorating contest.

In 1972, Sammy Davis, Jr. released the song, The Candy Man. Sammy Davis, Jr. was an amazingly talented man who could sing, dance, play various instruments, and could make you laugh. He was considered to be one of the world’s best entertainers during his career.
Dorothy Lucille Balmer, 96, passed away October 26, 2022 at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay. Dorothy was born July 25, 1926 in Bluffton to the late Quinten and Edna (Freyman) Burkholder. On June 12, 1947 she married Donald Balmer who preceded her in death on April 18, 2007.
The top-seeded Bluffton High School girls soccer team defeated Mansfield Christian 5-2 in their Div. III district semifinal match at Steinmetz Field Tuesday night, October 25.
The Pirate girls improved to 16-2 with the convincing win. They will face third seed Riverdale (11-5-2) in the district finals Saturday, October 29 at Steinmetz Field. The game starts at 3 p.m.
The Mansfield Christian Flames ended up 9-9-2 after the defeat.
