Homer Henderson 1931-2010
Homer Henderson, 78, Pandora, Ohio, died at 9:47 p.m., Jan. 27, 2010, at James Cancer Center, Columbus, Ohio.
He was born Sept. 20, 1931, to Clay and Donna Wolf Henderson in Kenton. On Oct. 10, 1955, he married Fran Bryant and she survives.
He retired from Phillips ECG, Ottawa, after 40 years. He attended New Life Church International, Lima, and was a member of the Pandora American Legion Post 606 and the Bluffton Senior Citizens Center. He was a life member of the VFW Post 1275, Lima.
He attended Kenton High School and graduated from Bluffton High School in 1949. He served in Korea the U.S. Marine Corps.
Survivors in addition to his wife are a daughter, Cathi Ungar, Bluffton; son, Steve (Carol) Henderson, Bluffton; daughter, Terri Wayne, Dupont; granddaughters Rachel (Gabriel) Thompson, Melody Sommers, Marcy (Jason) Maple, Amy (Dustin) Montgomery, Ali Hopkins, Jessica Oakley and grandsons Steven Henderson, Cody Hopkins and Chance Wayne.
He is also survived by a brother, James Henderson, Lima, and Edward (Linda) Henderson, Decatur, Ind., and by nine great-grandchildren.
A funeral service is Monday, Feb. 1, at 10:30 a.m. at Chiles-Laman Funeral Home, Bluffton. Pastor Darnell Williams will officiate. Military rites will be provided by the Pandora American Legion.
Visitation is from 2 to 6 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home. Burial is in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Pandora. Contributions may go to the Gideons International or the Leukemia Foundation.
