David Eugene Long 1942-2010 was postmaster of Beaverdam
David Eugene Long, 67, of Beaverdam, Ohio, died Jan. 30, 2010 at his residence. He was born Oct. 3, 1942, in Lima to Rolland and Dorothy Hanthorn Long. He married Carol Bartels on Oct. 17, 1988, and she survives.
He retired from Fruehauf, Delphos. He had been the Beaverdam postmaster and served on the Beaverdam council. He also owned a video store in Beaverdam.
In addition to his wife, survivors are a half-brother, Jack Hanthorn, Middlepoint, and two step-sons Nick (Debby) Kloeppel, Lima and Adam (Libby) Kloeppel, Lima.
A funeral is planned at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 2, at Chiles-Laman Funeral Home, Bluffton. Rev. Rich Rekay will officiate. Visitation is Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rockport Cemetery, Columbus Grove.
