New Year’s resolutions can feel overwhelming, and guilt-inducing if you can’t keep them. This year, why not assign yourself a few tasks to keep your allergy and asthma symptoms under control in 2023?

BHS swim team hosts Holiday Invitational, combined scores highest overall

Boys finish 2nd and girls finish 3rd; records fall

The Bluffton High School swim team hosted the Holiday Invitational at the Lima YMCA on December 27, and finished strong in the water for the second straight week. The daylong event hosted 35 teams from the region and 467 swimmers.  

The Bluffton High School boys team finished second with 231 points. Wapakoneta High School finished in first with 308 and Shawnee High School finished in third with 214.5 points.

BHS girls basketball loses to undefeated Bath

LIMA–The visiting Bluffton High School girls basketball team lost 41-29 at undefeated Bath in a non-conference contest Thursday night, December 29.

The Pirates dropped to 7-3 with the road defeat. Bath improved to 10-0 with the victory.

Donaldson drains 8 treys

Playing in the Lewis Family McDonald's Holiday Classic tournament, the host Bluffton High School boys basketball team routed Cory-Rawson 70-54 in the semifinals of the annual event Thursday, December 29.

Pirate sophomore Marek Donaldson fired in eight three-point goals to net a game-high 26 points. All of his baskets came from beyond the arc.

Power outage on December 28 affected 1,100 customers

On December 28, an electrical power outage in the Bluffton area impacted residents and caused some businesses to close. Today some in the area are still reporting problems with Internet connectivity.

The outage began around 7:45 p.m. and lasted around three hours. Approximately 1,100 customers were impacted, according to American Electric Power.
