Ohio Northern University choir performs at First United Methodist

The University Singers from Ohio Northern University will perform at First United Methodist Church, Bluffton at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 27. The concert is part of the choir's fall tour.

The select, 47-voice choir will perform a variety of works including classical and spiritual pieces. The performance is in the sanctuary at 116 Church St.. The public is invited. Admission is free; a free-will offering will be accepted to help cover the choir's expenses.

Bluffton alumnus to discuss his natural transformation

Bluffton University graduate Todd Crail will present a Bluffton Forum, "From Nowhere to Naturalist: An Interpretive History of Mr. Todd Crail," at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2, in Founders Hall.

Testing is topic of Bluffton Colloquium

Amanda Sensenig, assistant professor of psychology at Bluffton University, will discuss her dissertation research on multiple-choice testing at 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 5, in Stutzman Lecture Hall in Centennial Hall. The colloquium is free and open to the public.

The presentation will focus on test taking and whether it can help improve memory for the specific areas of information being tested. Sensenig will outline research she did at Colorado State University, as well as some related general findings that others have published.

MDS communications director Nov. 9 university forum speaker

Scott Sundberg, director of communications at Mennonite Disaster Service, will speak Tuesday, Nov. 9, at a Bluffton University Forum titled "Disasters Are Like the Poor: A Look at the Response, Responsibility, Resources and Respect from a MDS and Anabaptist Perspective." Beginning at 11 a.m. in Founders Hall, the event is free and open to the public.

No frost yet, but it was close on Oct. 16

The rain in Bluffton falls mainly...it rained a bit over the past seven days, according to Guy Verhoff, Pandora weather observer. The rain wasn't much, a little over one-half inch over three days.
