Bluffton alumnus to discuss his natural transformation
Bluffton University graduate Todd Crail will present a Bluffton Forum, "From Nowhere to Naturalist: An Interpretive History of Mr. Todd Crail," at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2, in Founders Hall.
Crail mentors high school and undergraduate students on the natural history of the Maumee River watershed, which he says is often misinterpreted. He will talk about his work with the colorful fish called darters that are found in the river and about its amazing orchid diversity. He will also discuss the "interconnectedness of species and land use, and what we might do to help increase the extent of these resources."
Crail has his bachelor's degree in biology from Bluffton and a master's degree from the University of Toledo, where he is currently a doctoral candidate in the environmental science department.
