Community garage sale supports public library
The Friends of the Bluffton Public Library are hosting the second annual Community Garage Sale on Aug. 5, 6 and 7. Maps, a list of addresses with descriptions, media coverage and classified advertising will be coordinated by the Friends of the Library. To appear on the map and list, participants must register by July 17.
This year, the Friends will increase advertising in area newspapers and provide yard signs to mark sale locations. Also new this year, participants can increase their support of the Bluffton Public Library by donating a portion of their sales. Sale hours on Thursday and Friday will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. On Saturday, sales will be from 8 a.m. to whenever participants decide to close.
Registration will run June 24 to July 17 at the library. The cost is $20 per site, which includes a $5 refundable deposit for yard signs advertising the sale.
Checks should be made payable to "Friends of the Bluffton Public Library." If multiple families combine their sale at one address, only a single fee will be charged. Participants can also register at the Friends of the Library table during Amerifest on June 26 and access the registration form on the Friends' web page at www.blufftonpubliclibrary.org.
