75th anniversary celebrated at the library on Sept. 25

In honor of Bluffton Public Library's 75th anniversary, an open house is planned at the library on Saturday, Sept. 25, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. A variety of free activities have been scheduled in conjunction with the Bluffton Fall Festival.

Free refreshments will be served during the day while supplies last. "Behind the scenes" library tours will also take place at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., and at noon, and two family storytime sessions featuring vintage cartoon clips and songs are slated for 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., kids' craft activities will take place. A Friends of the Library information table will be available from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Music will also be provided by the Dulcimer Gatherin' group from 11 a.m. to noon and by Krysti's Music Studio & Students from noon to 1 p.m. From 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., a "name that tune" contest hosted by Duane Bollenbacher will feature songs through the decades.

A special after-hours miniature golf event will take place from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. This activity is open to all ages but space is limited and registration is required. Pizza will be served.

"The community is invited to share in the celebration and enjoy the various programs and activities made possible by generous donations from the Friends of the Library, local businesses, volunteers and vendors," Library Director Cindi Chasse said.
