Robert J. Stratton, 93, died Nov. 28, 2019, at his residence. Bob was born May 28, 1926, in Bluffton to the late Raymond and Carrie (Sutter) Stratton. On Aug. 9, 1953, he married Treva Althaus Stratton who survives.
Bob was a graduate of Bluffton High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War serving with the 24th Infantry Division. He was awarded the combat and Bronze Star medals. Bob was an active member of the American Legion Post #382 in Bluffton and also served in other veteran organizations.

The Bluffton University men's basketball team traveled to Hiram College for a Thanksgiving Eve matchup with the Terriers on Nov. 27.
Three Beavers notched double figures in the scoring column which helped propel them to a 76-61 victory over the Terriers. Bluffton improved to 3-2 overall while Hiram fell to 2-4 on the year.

If “It’s A Wonderful Life” is one of your all-time favorite Christmas movies, you are in luck.
For the third holiday season, Bluffton Icon will sponsor two free showings of the 1946 classic featuring the all-star cast of James Stewart, Donna Reed and Lionel Barrymore on Friday, Nov. 29, at the Shannon Theatre, Bluffton.
The free showings are at 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. and are kickoffs to this year’s Blaze of Lights event.

Two Bluffton churches could not get through their Sunday morning worship services without Scott Edwards.
He has a reserved front row seat at English Lutheran Church and First United Methodist. That’s because he is the organist of both congregations.
On Nov. 24, English Lutheran recognized Edwards for his 60-plus years as organist at 111 Grove Street.
