Food and entertainment part of Saturday's Ride to Remember - you're invited

STILL TIME TO REGISTER TO RIDE -
CHECK OUT THE 10, 23 AND 63 MILE ROUTES AT BOTTOM OF STORY.

Here's your invitation to come out to the Bluffton swimming pool on Saturday for some music, and hamburgers off the grill while you watch the bikers come back from their Rides to Remember bike ride.

The Dough Hook will be grilling hamburgers and MooOink burgers on the grill and will offer a selection side dishes from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the pool.

Bluffton hopes to enter America in Bloom - here's some background

NOTE: Several Bluffton groups are considering entering Bluffton into the America in Bloom judging. Susie Stratton of Stratton Greenhouses is one of the judges in an entry in the contest submitted by Gallipolis, Ohio. Here's a story about the contest.

A very quiet building - elementary school

The bells ring to announce lunch, period changes and school out for the day - but no students are present to listen.

Here's a view of the Bluffton elementary main hall way this summer as room floors are waxed and everything is in the works to prepare for late August.

Otherwise, it's a pretty quiet building.

Any color so long as it's yellow

Those yellow lines on Bluffton streets appears again - as they do each summer. The Allen County Engineers paint the streets for the village. The Icon caught the parade on West Street.

Your invitation to join the Aug. 12 Arlington festival parade

The Arlington Village Festival is Friday and Saturday, Aug. 12-13.

One of the events is a parade and area organizations and businesses are invited to participate. The parade is at 6 p.m., Friday, Aug 12. Line up starts at 4:30 p.m. at the Arlington elevator lot and in front of the Arlington High School.

Junior Weihrauch, who directs the Bluffton Blaze of Lights parade, is the Arlington parade director. He invites local groups to participate and the an application form is attached to this story.
