There's a new mural going up in town - but, you've already noticed it. Locationed on the former Groves' Bear building, it will show the history of Bluffton as a diarama, from right to left. Sarah Hartzler, Bath High School art teacher, and several of her students are creating the mural. It's at the corner of Main and Elm.

The S.H.A.N.N.O.N. Service Club of Bluffton, in conjunction with the Village
of Bluffton, the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Bluffton American
Legion, says thank you to the many businesses and individuals who helped to
sponsor the 2016 Main Street flag project The cooperation among so many
people who helped this project in so many ways is truly inspiring. And the
stories behind the people who are honored and memorialized are heartwarming.

Relay for Hope pie auction raises $1,877 - here's the top three recipes

Three fantastic pie recipes

This year's Bluffton Relay for Hope pie auction set a record with 28 pies sold for a total of $1,877, according to Esther Spaeth.

Kathy Miles’ cherry pie won first place, Jamey Miles (son of Kathy and James) was second with a caramel pie. Brent Warren was third with old-fashioned all American apple pie. All three are from Jenera. 

Judges were Jeff Stratton and Matthew Gillett. The auctioneer was Dave Warren.

Meet Genn Akroyd, the new Bluffton chamber director

Gennifer Akroyd is the new Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce director, according to Phil Zimmerly, president of the chamber board.

Akroyd comes to the chamber with a background in marketing and public relations, particularly with non-profit organizations. That includes with the United Way of Hancock County and as a freelancer.

A 1992 Cory-Rawson graduate, she has previous small business experience as owner-operator of Thin and Healthy with locations in Findlay and Bowling Green.

Marilyn Jean Sumney receives Senior Assn. life membership

Bluffton Senior Citizen Association will honor Marilyn Jean Sumney during its July dinner meeting.

Jean turns 90 this month and will receive a life membership and red rose from the center.

The meeting is at 6 p.m., Monday, July 11, at the center. It is a catered meal by the Masonic Lodge. Tickets are $8.50.

Swimmers on your mark!

Bluffton's two-day population ranks it a city thanks to the Western Ohio Aquatic League championships held at the Bluffton Community Swimming Pool. Swimmers and parents from Lima, Ada, Wapakoneta, Shawnee and Kenton are in town. Attendance is estimated at around 2,000 persons. CLICK HERE FOR A VIDEO.
