Sam Diller talks about 50 years as a lawyer at Dec. 10 chamber breakfast
Continuing its theme of featuring local business persons, Sam Diller will relate 50 years of practicing law during the 7:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 10, Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce breakfast in the town hall community room.
Eariler this fall, Diller was honored by the Ohio State Bar Association for his 50 years as a lawyer in Ohio.
Chamber breakfasts this year are provided by Richland Manor. Breakfasts are free. This month's meeting is open to the general public. Persons wanting to attend must RSVP to [email protected] by Wednesday, Dec. 8.
Diller graduated from Bluffton High School in 1952, Bluffton College in 1956 and received his J.D. from Ohio Northern in 1959.
Among his local projects include helping to start Bluffton Housing Corp. in 1972. He has served on the Allen County Blackhoff Legal Aid board for 20 years.
He has also served on the boards of the Bluffton Public Library, Easter Seals and Triplett Foundation. He has also served as village solicitor for Bluffton and Arlington.
He opened his Bluffton law practice in 1971.
Previous speakers on the 2010-11 chamber breakfast series have included Jerry Lewis, Dr. Terry Chappell and Richard Boehr.
In January, the theme will change as Ryan Lowry, BHS grad and ONU student, will discuss social media and how businesses may use these to their advantage.

"Almost a free lunch" Monday at Common Grounds
One other chamber program takes place this month. Monday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. is the final "almost a free lunch" for 2010. It is at Common Grounds. For $3 members may have a one-half Reuben sandwich, soup and a drink (drink compliments of the chamber). The lunch may be ordered for taken out or eaten or at the CG.
