Bluffton funeral director

Here's a photo of Paul Diller, whose photos The Icon has shared with viewers this past month. Diller was a funeral director in Bluffton and as a hobby took photos.
Although not a professional photographer, his photos capture the essence of the Bluffton community in a manner that few other photographers have matched. Most of the Diller's photos reproduced on the Icon are from the 1940s to early 1970s.
We wouldn't be surprised if he took this photo of himself with his 1948 (?) Packard hearse. To the right is the front of an early 1050-era Chrysler.
Most of Diller's photos were shot with Kodachrome slides. Those slides retain their color even today, as evident when the Icon reprints them. This photo was probably taken with Ektachrome slide film. It lost its color and we've reprinted it here in a very toned-down format.
