Susan Gratz, Bonnie Hammond will retire at the end of the school year
Bluffton school board accepted the resignations of three staff persons at it February board meeting.
Susan Gratz, sixth grade language arts teacher, will retire effect the last day of the school year. Bonnie Hammond, Title I reading coordinator in the elementary, will also retire the last day of the school year. In addition Vicki Kirdendall, cafeteria employee, resigned effective Feb. 28.
Administrative contracts were approved for 2011-12 school year. An agreement between the board and administrators resulted in no pay increased for administrators in 2011-12.
The following persons received three-year contracts effective Aug. 1, 2012 to July 31, 2015: Timothy Closson, Gregory Denecker, Dean Giesige, Marden Herr, Michael Minnig, Rebecca Gerschutz and Paula Parish. Robert Holt's contract is effective July 1, 2012 to June 30, 2015.
In other board action, the board approved the Northwest Ohio Area Computer Services Cooperative Service Provider contract for Internet service for 2011-12.
The board passed a resolution seeking to obtain a waiver from the Ohio Department of Education of the implementation of all-day, every-day kindergarten for state fiscal year 2012 and 2013.
The resolution stated that implementation would create a hardship for the district. The Bluffton board seeks to submit a phase-in implementation plan for all-day, every-day kindergarten.
Jacquelyn Busch was approved as a classified employee for 2010-11 at $11.24 per hour, three hours per day, effective Jan. 17.
