Posted by Fred Steiner on March 11, 2021 - 1:34pm
Last July, the United Way of Greater Lima and the United Way of Bluffton, Beaverdam, and Richland Township joined together to collaboratively serve the community.
The goal was through combined efforts the two organizations would be able to effectively address community issues, maximize collective resources, and ensure the needs of the community were met well into the future.
The Bluffton University men's soccer team went at it with Mount St. Joseph for 110 minutes, notching the first tie during Head Coach Robert Richardson's tenure at the helm. Host MSJ and Bluffton finished 2-2 under the lights in Cincinnati.
Bluffton stands 0-2-1 overall and in the conference, while the Mount is now 1-1-1 in the Heartland Conference.
U6 soccer takes place from Tuesday, March 23, through Thursday, April 22. Flag football takes place from Saturday, March 27, to Saturday, April 24.
Registration deadline for both programs has been extended to Sunday, March 14. For more information contact BFR at 215 Snider Road, Bluffton or call 419-358-4150.
And, here's an update of our former resident, now in North Carolina

Ben Kruse, formerly of Bluffton and now of Cary, North Carolina, is the winner of the Bluffton Icon Golden Globe contest. He made seven correct selections and one correct tie breaker.
He wins a 1-item, 12-inch Padrone's Pizza, which he wants the Icon to give to Nancy Schweingruber (we will follow his instructions - rather than driving the pizza to North Carolina).
