3-2 victory over Grace Christian women's soccer

The Bluffton University women's soccer team improved to 2-1 for the first time since 2015 following a 3-2 victory over Grace Christian on Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2021. Bluffton went up 3-0 early in the second half and then held off the visitors despite a late penalty kick that made the final score 3-2.

University women 2nd in Military Appreciation Golf Invitational

The Bluffton University women's golf team hit the links for the fourth consecutive day when they made the trip to Defiance for the Military Appreciation Invitational on Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2021. A sparkling round of 355 equaled the Beavers for the 2nd-best round in school history. Bluffton came in 2nd, just 14 strokes off the pace of NAIA member Siena Heights University.

Pirate golfers split NWC quad

The Bluffton High School golf team split a four-team Northwest Conference match Tuesday evening, September 7, at the Bluffton Golf Course.

The Pirates beat Delphos Jefferson easily 170-201, but lost a close match to NWC leader Lincolnview 163-170.

Delphos Jeff edged Ada 201-204, and the Bulldogs also fell to Lincolnview 163-204.

Lancer Isaac Gallmeier was match medalist with a round of 40, finishing just ahead of Pirate senior Kenny Lovett, who shot a 41.

Micah Minnig carded a 42, followed closely by teammates Jaden Coonfare (43) and Wes Brauen (44).

Bluffton spikes Red Devils

The visiting Bluffton volleyball team won a four-set non-league match at Arlington Tuesday night, September 7.

The Pirate girls improved to 4-2 after the 25-20, 21-25, 25-18, 25-14 victory. The Lady Red Devils fell to 1-5 with the defeat.

Senior middle hitter Kylie Stackhouse led the Pirates with 26 kills and two blocks. Freshman middle Ayla Grandey knocked down a dozen kills. 

Bluffton setter Skyler Scoles passed out 50 assists. Senior Kylie Monday came up with 11 digs and served four aces. Senior libero Sophie Bricker added seven digs.
