CWD testing continues; one case found in Allen County

COLUMBUS__The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife conducted a Chronic Wasting Disease surveillance area in Hardin, Marion and Wyandot counties, where sampling is mandatory for all deer harvested during the seven-day gun season, Monday, Nov. 27 to Sunday, Dec. 3.

Farm financial management program

AUGLAIZE COUNTY__Ohio State University Extension offices in Allen, Auglaize and Mercer counties will be presenting a Farm Financial Management College in January 2024.

This four night program is designed for any farmer looking to improve their farm financial management skills. This course will develop an understanding of farm financial management, production record keeping and enterprise analysis. If participants are interested, this course also fulfills the requirements for Ohio’s Beginning Farmer Tax Credit Program Certification (House Bill 95).

The course will be taught by OSU Extension Agriculture and Natural Resources Extension Educators and State Specialists.

Holiday dulcimer music at Bluffton Public Library

The Bluffton Public Library will have a Holiday Dulcimer Music event on Tuesday, December 5.

The event will start at 1:00 p.m. on the library’s main floor. Enjoy refreshments while listening to festive holiday music performed by local musicians.

Bluffton alumna encourages students to have brave conversations

2010 graduate Andrea Flack-Wetherald brought her combined skills in social work and improvisation to Bluffton University’s weekly Forum on Nov. 28. The social worker, author and comedian shared tips for holding brave conversations and explained how those difficult conversations can ultimately lead to wellness.
