Loaded Baked Potato soup from Bluffton University named taster's choice at Maple Crest cookoff

Bluffton University's Loaded Baked Potato soup was the diner's choice at the Nov. 4 Maple Crest Senior Living Village soup cook-off.

Over 150 persons samples soups from seven Bluffton area restaurants and then voted on their favorites.

The top three vote-getters were:

1 - Bluffton University's Loaded Baked Potato soup
2 - Rossilli's (of Findlay) Corn and Crab chowder
3 - The Dough Hook's chili soup

Others who participated were; Luke's Bar & Grill (Bluffton) with Taco Soup, Lu Lu's Diner (Lima) with Stuffed Green Pepper Soup, Jeanne's Kitchen (Bluffton) with Broccoli Cheddar, and the Maple Crest kitchen with Beefy Vegetable.

The dinner included a taste of each soup, salad, breadsticks, dessert and drink. Those attending could receive on discount on their meal price if they donated a canned good for the Bluffton Community Assistance Program. Over 75 items were collected to assist the food pantry.
