Gregg Luginbuhl - Bluffton's artist laureate

He played a pretty mean basketball and baseball game, too

By Fred Steiner

A Gregg Luginbuhl coffee mug sits at my keyboard as I write this. Perhaps you hold one as you read this.

Gregg was artist laureate of Bluffton. The title passed to him from his father, Darvin. Before Darvin, it belonged to John Klassen. Gregg also belongs in the same class with other former Bluffton artists Richard Minck and Paul Soldner.

Perfect weather - perfect fall festival

And we offer lots of photos to prove our point

The weather was perfect - make that incredible.

The attendance was remarkable. The enthusiasm was just what you’d want at a small-town fall festival. And it took place in Bluffton.

What was your favorite part?

There were many: home-business expo, farmers’ market, pumpkin face painting, food, quilt show, tractor show, music, historic exhibits, pony rides, horse and wagon rides. Shall we go on?

The 13th annual Bluffton Fall Festival fell on a Saturday with warm temperatures and just the right amount of sunshine.

Check out the shoes!

Abbie Parkins is the 2016 Bluffton High School homecoming queen. Gabe Denecker is king. They were announced queen and king in a pre-game ceremony on Friday. And, yes, their photo is below. It's just that The Icon couldn't keep our eyes off their red shoes. Jaime Nygaard took these photos.
