Icon misinformed about raising wooden pool from bottom of Buckeye
The Icon apologizes for mis-information provided about reported plans to raise the wooden floating swimming pool from the depths of the Buckeye (Click here for that story, read by over 675 viewers).
It is true that the wooden pool is actually resting on bottom and center of the Buckeye. Dave Fett, who really explored the bottom of the Buckeye with scuba equipment, informed The Icon that if the waters of the Buckeye were clean the wooden structure could be visible from the banks.
He also said that the pool has lots of fishing lures stuck on it. That means that all those guys who thought they snagged a rouge walleye on the bottom, really snagged the wooden pool.
But, back to the story posted late on the evening of March 31. Now the Icon understands that the group interested in raising the pool actually intends to travel back further in time: to the 1920s.
The Icon understands the intention is to place a diving board on the north bank of the Buckeye (see photo) in the exact location of the original board.
Persons interested in pursuing this project are welcome to give it a shot.
