Beckie Fish employee of the month at MMH

Beckie Fish is the employee of the month at Mennonite Memorial Home. She has been employed at the Mennonite Memorial Home for five years and works as a STNA.

Beckie is a competent and caring person who attends to the needs of the elders she serves. Her supervisor has commented that she is a team player and helps other staff when needed.

Beckie has a good sense of humor and engages the elders in conversation and other activities. She is from Beaverdam.

Santa and Oscar Velasquez at public library Dec. 11

Holiday festivities at Bluffton Public Library continue on Saturday, Dec. 11, including several activities for youth. Santa Claus will make an appearance at the library at 11 a.m. He will read a story and then children may present their wish list requests to him until 1 p.m. Other activities for children include a make and take craft and cookie decorating.

In addition, Oscar Velasquez will be playing holiday music on his guitar from noon to 1 p.m. This gives library patrons a chance to meet the artist and purchase his Blaze of Lights prints from 1-2 p.m.

December in Bluffton - something for everyone

The community of Bluffton invites its residents and residents from surrounding communities to village to visit Bluffton in December. Many events are planned. Here's the schedule of events, which also include Pandora activities:

Nightly now through Jan. 1:
o Ream holiday folk art display until 11 p.m., Presbyterian church law
o The Gift of Giving light show extravaganza, until 11 p.m., East College Avenue, across from Harmon Field Stadium
