Cory Huber April BHS student of the month

Cory Huber, 18, and a senior at Bluffton High School, was named the Bluffton High School student of the month for April. He is the son of Wayne and Jana Huber, 328 Cherry St. Cory is a member of the BHS yearbook staff, Writing Club, Teen Advisory Board at the Bluffton Public Library, member of Chess Club and the BHS Academic Team. He participated in tennis and wrestling during his sophomore and junior years. He plans to attend Bowling Green State University and pursue a degree in nursing.

Amanda Amstutz March BHS student of the month

Amanda Amstutz, 18, a Bluffton High School senior, was named student of the month for March. The daughter of Mike and Kathie Amstutz, 8977 Bixel Road, Amanda is treasurer of the BHS student senate and is class secretary. She was a participant in the good attitude lunch and has achieved the all-A honor roll. She plans to enroll in Ohio Northern University and pursue physchology and sociology.

Bluffton author a finalist in Indie Book Award

Bluffton writer Andr'e Swartley's second novel, Americanus Rex, has been named a finalist in the General Fiction/Novel Category of the 2010 Next Generation Indie Book Awards. The yearly contest is open to all English-language books published in the previous calendar year by independent writers and publishers anywhere in the world. Grand Prize winners will be announced later this month.

Reservations accepted for women's SPA Day May 15

Beth Boehr, of Beyond Budgeting, will be the keynote speaker for SPA Day 2010, to be held in the Patio Room at Maple Crest, Saturday, May 15, from 1 to 4 p.m.

Boehr will discuss ways to shop smart, plan ahead and accumulate wealth. In addition, participants will have the opportunity to have manicures, pedicures, facials, massages and make-up makeovers courtesy of local professionals from the area.
