George Huser was a Korean Conflict veteran
George R. Huser, 82 died at 12:40 p.m. Dec. 19, 2012 at Bluffton Hospital.
He was born December 24, 1929 in Pandora to Philemon and Elizabeth (Basinger) Huser. He married Ann Dearth who survives in Charleston, SC and they were divorced. In June 1983 he married Rachel Hoffer and she died in August 2010.
He had been a self-employed painter and had worked for Rusco Industries, Meadville, PA. He had retired from McIntosh, Bluffton.
He had attended Riley Creek United Methodist Church and Pandora United Methodist Church.
He was a member of the American Legion, Pandora, past member of the Pandora Fire Dept. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He graduated from Pandora High School.
Survivors include two sons Kevin (Catherine) Huser of Shaker Heights, OH, Ken (Patricia Ann) Huser of Fletcher, NC; three daughters Donna (Dick) Dukes of Pandora, Kay Heitmeyer of Pandora; Connie (Richard) West of Sidney; a sister Dorothy Moser of Pandora; twelve grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
A brother Sherwood “Jake” Huser, and five sisters Phyllis Gaylord, Betty Jean Cherry, Joan Etter, Jeanette Baumgartner, and Mary Jane Greitman preceded him in death.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Pandora United Methodist Church. Rev. Duane Kemerley officiating.
Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Friday at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Riley Creek United Methodist Church of the Wounded Warriors Project.
