Carolyn Dickey was a teacher at Allen East from 1968-1988
Carolyn (Kerry) Vore Dickey, 84, formerly of Bluffton, died Feb. 24, 2013, in Prior Lake, Minn.
Preceded in death by her parents, Roger Miller (d. 1995) and Ida Panabaker (d. 1987) Vore, and one brother, Robert Vore (d. 1998).
Mrs. Dickey was born in Lima, Oct. 31, 1928. She graduated from Lafayette Jackson High School in 1946 and Bluffton College in 1950. She taught kindergarten at Allen-East from 1968-1988.
She is survived by her husband Dale, formerly of Sidney and Bluffton, currently residing in Prior Lake, Minn.; daughters Johanna Rian (Neil Anderson) of Lakeville, Minn., and Elizabeth Lacy of Toledo; nephews Keith Vore (Judy) of Parkville, Mo., and Eric Vore (Kristy) of Lima; nieces Jill Gullette (Rick) of Granite Falls, N.C. and Jennifer Boughan (Rick) of Lima; and granddaughter Katherine Schlesser (Kyle) of Edina, Minn.
Burial will take place at Lewis Cemetery, Pleasant View Church of the Brethren in Lima, at a later date. Memorials may be sent to Bluffton University, Bluffton Presbyterian Church, or Bluffton Public Library, Bluffton, Ohio. Condolences may be mailed to Dale Dickey at 13810 Shepherds Path East, Prior Lake, MN 55379.
