This week’s third graders are Bryan Zimmerman (Mrs. Bogart’s class), Logan Nussbaum, (Mrs. Kingsley), Jackson Wilson (Mr. Armstrong) and Robby Lyons (Mrs. Raeburn). The viewer needs to insert laughs between every other word in this interview.
What’s your favorite subject in third grade?
Bryan: Math. You learn lots of things, like multiplying and you earn a sundae.
Logan: Science. I like animals and space.
Jackson: Math because I’m good at it. I like multiplying and subtracting.
Robby: Math. It’s easy. We will get sundaes. We earn the bowl when we do 1s, spoons after 2s, caramels after 3s, a cherry after 7s and after 12, it’s a surprise.
Tell me about some of the books you are reading.
Robby: Chapter books.
Jackson: Captain Underpants.
Captain Underpants?
Jackson: Yes. It’s about two kids who hypnotize their school principal. He thinks he’s a super hero.
Logan: Captain Underpants and Harry Potter.
Bryan: Captain Underpants (more laughs than usual)
If you could be any animal for one day, what animal would you be?
Bryan: A tiger. I’d eat Logan.
Logan: A wolf. I just like wolves.
Jackson: A cheetah. I’d run away from Bryan.
Robby: An elephant. I’d squash them all.
Okay, think about this for a moment. If you could live anywhere on earth, where would that be?
Robby: An island no one knows about. There would be no school and it would be very quiet.
Jackson: Florida. It’s warm and there’d be a nice pool.
Logan: Laos.
Bryan: The Bermuda Triangle.
What movie or television show do you watch more than any other?
Bryan: The Wild Soccer Bunch. It’s awesome. I watch it six times a day. (more laughing than usual).
Logan: Sponge Bob.
Jackson: Scooby Do and The Cyber Chase. Maybe watched it 20 times maybe seven times, maybe six times a week, maybe every day.
Robby: I forget my favorite movie ever.
If you could invent a game, what would it be?
Robby: Where’s the clock? You’d have to find a clock with 12 words on it.
Jackson: I’m still thinking.
Logan: Fat Explosion. You’d feed this guy and make good food until he explodes.
Bryan: I’m still thinking also.
Jackson: I’ve got it. Wizard Battle.
Bryan: It would be the battle of underpants. (more laughs)
Who is your favorite sports team?
Bryan: Miami Heat. They are good and LaBron James is on the team.
Logan: Soccer. I would say the Columbus Crew. I like to see them play.
Jackson: The Steelers are my favorite team.
Robby: The Browns.
Logan: Why not the Purples?
What’s your favorite lunch in the cafeteria?
Bryan: Pizza with pepperoni. Also cucumbers, celery, carrots and milk on the side.
Logan: Popcorn chicken with ranch dressing. I like to mix the dressing and catsup together.
Jackson: Popcorn chicken with ranch on it. Frozen yogurt and salad.
Robby: Tacos with hot peppers.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
Bryan: I want to play soccer in the U.S.
Logan: Let’s see, a soccer coach.
Jackson: I want to be a fake wrestler.
How many Legos do you have?
Robby: Twenty boxes.
Bryan: Two thousand.
Logan: One box, Harry Potter.
Jackson: Two or three boxes. I build whatever it says. I keep them all in their box.
Last question before you return to class, how long have you ever stayed up at night?
Robby: Fifty nights.
Bryan: That’s impossible.
Jackson: One night. I watched TV all night when I was in kindergarten. I was pretty tired the next day at school.
Logan: One day or two.
Bryan: Five days.
Wow, you guys can really stay awake for a longer time than I thought. Thanks for talking with me. You may now return to your class.
